Frequently Asked Questions

How long does my hair have to be to wax?

Your hair should be about a quarter of an inch to a half an inch. If you shave, wait a full 2 weeks before waxing.

How often should I wax?

It’s recommended to wait 4-5 weeks for Brazilian waxing and less time for other areas such as face, eyebrows and underarms.

Are there any medications or creams that I should avoid prior to getting waxed?

Yes, medications such as Accutane and topicals that include Retin-A, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, Renova, Avita, Benzoyl Peroxide. All of the above mentioned can enhance skin sensitivity that could lead to lifting of the skin when removing hair.

Is there anything I can do to make it hurt less or to prepare?

Taking an Ibuprofen 1 hour before will aid in reducing sensitivity and inflammation. Avoid drinking caffeine for a few hours prior to your wax as this causes more sensitivity. The wax itself will only take 10-15 minutes.

If I get a peel, does that mean my face will peel off?
